Job summary

Halfords Autocentre Montrose is recruiting an Apprentice Auto Technician to gain hands-on experience while working towards a recognised qualification with GTG Training.

You will work at our Montrose Autocentre, learning to inspect, service, diagnose and repair vehicles with support from qualified technicians and GTG mentors.

Qualifications

• National 4 (or above) in Maths, English and a Science or Technical subject (or equivalent).
• Enthusiastic with good problem-solving and teamwork.
• Interest in building a career in the motor industry.

Responsibilities

• Learn to inspect, service, maintain, diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicles.
• Work alongside experienced technicians on modern vehicles and diagnostics.
• Develop skills through GTG Training while earning a recognised qualification.
• Attend training and gain practical hands-on experience.

Apprentice Auto Technician Halfords Autocentre Montrose Join Halfords as an Apprentice Auto Technician and gain hands‑on experience while working towards a recognised qualification with GTG Training.

About The Role

Based in our Montrose Autocentre, you'll work alongside experienced technicians, learning how to inspect, service, maintain, diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicles. No two days are the same, with exposure to modern technologies, diagnostics and complex vehicle repairs.

We're looking for enthusiastic individuals with strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a genuine interest in building a career in the motor industry.

Working Hours

• 5-day working week
• 40 hours (under 18s) / 44 hours (18+)
• Autocentre opening hours: 8:00am to 6:00pm

Training & Qualifications

You’ll work towards:

• SCQF Level 5 Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
• Opportunity to progress to SCQF Level 7 after two years

Training includes workplace safety, vehicle servicing, maintenance, diagnostics, repairs and electrical systems, supported by dedicated GTG and Halfords mentors.
