This Position reports to: Product Marketing Director - ELSB

We are recruiting an Applications Engineer to join our tendering team, providing essential technical expertise across our electrical distribution portfolio. You will create customer approval layouts, conduct engineering reviews, support production, and work closely with the Tendering Manager to deliver estimating and cost guidance. You will also join sales teams on customer visits to provide technical solutions.

In this role, you will drive product improvement and development initiatives with the product management team, while supporting process improvement, quality control, and innovative customer-focused solutions. Your technical expertise will be central to producing accurate, competitive tenders and ensuring our proposals are both commercially viable and technically robust. You will act as the technical link between sales, production, and customers.

The ideal candidate will have an electrical and mechanical background with a minimum HNC qualification. Installation knowledge is highly desirable. Close collaboration with the estimating and production teams is essential, along with the ability to translate complex technical requirements into practical, cost-effective solutions.

Your Role and Responsibilities
  • Developing and implementing solutions, product packages, and software applications with your team.
  • Understanding customer needs and requirements, and effectively communicating the ability of ABB's solutions to address those needs.
  • Coordinating the product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the value and benefits of ABB's solutions.
  • Supporting in preparing sales proposals and negotiating contracts to secure new businesses.
