Are you an individual with knowledge of AML law, experience of managing a team and conducting investigations? The AML Proactive Supervision Team is looking for an AML Team Manager.

The role

The AML Team Manager will lead a team of AML Associates and Officers conducting proactive AML engagement on a desk basis and on-site. The role holder will also carry out some high risk inspections.

You will have responsibility for scheduling and resourcing AML resources within the team and ensuring team KPIs are met, whilst providing excellent leadership and development to team members. Working as part of the AML management team you will make meaningful and informed contributions to the strategy and performance of the teams; ensure we are carrying out our role as a supervisory authority and contribute to new and innovative ways of working

You will make sure that all AML engagement with firms is conducted fairly, proportionately and in a timely manner and that specific thematic projects involving high quality proactive engagement will be delivered in a supportive and collaborative manner providing added value to the business.

The successful applicant will have in depth knowledge of AML law and practice, experience of managing a team, and direct experience of conducting regulatory investigations.

This is a full-time hybrid role based in Birmingham. Regular travel will be required in this role across England and Wales.

What we're looking for

  • Experience of managing a team and mentoring and coaching other professionals
  • Detailed knowledge of anti-money laundering law and practice: and other key legislation such as the Money Laundering Regulations and Proceeds of Crime Act
  • Direct experience of conducting investigations
  • Communicate effectively at senior levels
  • Track record of leading and delivering solutions and taking accountability for the successful resolution of highly complex issues
  • Strong experience of managing operational activities and ensuring KPI's are managed
  • Pro‑active approach to cases and projects
  • An additional 3% of annual basic salary to spend on benefits that suit your lifestyle
