Job summary

Job Title: Airworthiness Review Engineer
Location: Teesside International Airport, Darlington
Salary: £60,000–£65,000
Working: Onsite

Our Client

We are supporting an aviation organisation in the recruitment of an experienced Airworthiness Review Engineer to join their team at Teesside International Airport. The role is focused on ensuring the safe and compliant management of aircraft airworthiness across the fleet, in line with all applicable aviation regulations and international standards.

The successful candidate will operate within a highly regulated environment, providing expert advice on Airworthiness Review Certificates (ARC) and supporting safety management, audits, and compliance functions. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a team committed to operational excellence and aviation safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute and assure Airworthiness Review Certificate (ARC) activities in line with regulatory approvals
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of ARC processes in compliance with aviation regulations including EASA, UK CAA, UK MAA, and others
  • Serve as a focal point for aircraft import and export activities
  • Support the organisation’s Safety Management System, including reporting, audits, and safety investigations
  • Provide guidance and technical advice across the ARC function
  • Participate in domestic and international travel and occasional out-of-hours work as required
  • Support root cause identification and delivery of corrective and preventive actions to maintain compliance and safety
Experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an Airworthiness Review position
  • Extensive experience in continuing airworthiness management and Airworthiness Review Certificate processes
  • In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations including EASA, UK CAA, UK Military, and FAA
  • Practical experience with Safety Management Systems and international standards (ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001)
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels, mentor colleagues, and manage multiple priorities
  • Experience in conducting technical investigations, audits, and compliance monitoring
Qualifications
  • EASA / CAA / other Part 66 B1/B2 Aircraft Engineer Licence, or
  • Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering degree, or
  • Minimum of 10 years’ relevant and proven experience in continuing airworthiness management
  • Eligibility to hold ARC Form 4 and AD456 Form 4
  • SC-level security clearance eligibility
  • Familiarity with aircraft type training or general airframe and engine knowledge is advantageous
  • Knowledge of British Civil Aviation Regulation (BCAR) and fast jets is advantageous
