Airport Engineer - London Gatwick Airport

About the Job:
Working as an Airport Engineer, you'll provide and maintain continuity of service for all components of the Airport passenger processing system and resolve any technical issues, including complex issues requiring specialist knowledge.

What will you do?

  • Carry out regular routine and preventative maintenance on passenger processing equipment within the airport.
  • Respond to all customer incidents and service requests from the Global Service Desk, resolving user faults within SLAs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve airline host and connectivity issues.
  • Maintain high communication levels with colleagues and senior staff, providing timely updates to the Global Service Desk.
  • Resolve issues escalated by Airport Technicians promptly to meet customer SLAs.
  • Support and train Airport SSK engineers to enhance their incident resolution skills.
  • Identify necessary spares and advise the Global Service Desk accordingly.
  • Perform regular 'floor-walking' and proactive checks to identify issues before incidents occur.

The Hours:

  • Rotational shift schedule, 4 days on, 4 days off, from 6 AM – 6 PM & 6 PM - 6 AM.

What will you bring to ESP?

  • Good knowledge and experience with Microsoft Desktop software.
  • Understanding of network protocols, server hardware, and configurations, or other IT qualifications.
  • CompTIA A+ certification (desirable).
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move equipment (20-50 lbs).
  • Comfortable standing, kneeling, and using mechanical tools for extended periods.
