Qualifications

  • Experience in developing and creating lessons to a set of requirements.
  • Understanding of Training Needs Analysis and courseware development models.
  • Experience working in Aircraft Maintenance either Civil or Fast Jet.
  • Understanding of Systems Approach to training and/or Instructional Systems Design.
  • Qualification in an engineering discipline, preferably to HNC or equivalent.
  • Teaching/Instructor qualifications would be advantageous.

Up to £54,314 depending on experience

What you'll be doing:
  • Management and maintenance of BAES ISD and Customer Training processes and procedures, work assignment, program reviews, design, Quality Assurance, Configuration Management, and Analysis
  • Provide advice in all areas of Mechanical Specific ISD and courseware development to the Maintainer Training leads, as a Subject Matter Expert across the multiple platforms
  • Development of new CW, as requirements dictate, for Tornado, Typhoon and specifically Hawk Mk2 delivered to Maintainers
  • Work closely with Media Developers to define new graphics to support the CW development
  • Ensure BAE SYSTEMS developed training products and services are delivered to the customers' both contractual and technical requirements
  • Liaise with Support and Training Products, Technical Authorities, with regards to unique training requirements on behalf of BAE SYSTEMS
  • Provide engineering project management support to the Instructional System Development & Courseware Products Lead for Earned Value Management System (EVMS), resource planning and risk management
Your skills and experiences:
  • Experience in developing and creating lessons to a set of requirements.
  • Understanding of Training Needs Analysis and /or alternatively the Planning, Analysis, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate (PADDIE/ADDIE) model for courseware development.
  • Experience of working within Aircraft Maintenance either Civil or Fast Jet
  • A good understanding of Systems Approach to training (SAT) and/or Instructional Systems Design (ISD)
  • Qualification in an engineering discipline, preferably to HNC (or equivalent experience)
  • Teaching/Instructor qualifications would be advantageous

The Training Team:

This role offers an exciting opportunity to support BAE Systems' Instructional System Design and delivery of Mechanical (Airframe) courseware for the Hawk Platform, directly contributing to the Engineering Manager Ground Crew Training programme. The successful candidate will also play a key role in the development and sustainment of cross-platform training artefacts, supporting both current operational needs and future capability growth.

As a Courseware Developer and Deliverer, you will be instrumental in shaping high-quality training solutions that underpin Customer Training for Availability and New Business. You will contribute to the full lifecycle of training products, including the development of goods and services aligned to customer requirements, ensuring training outputs are effective, compliant, and operationally relevant.

The role involves the design, development, and support of Maintainer Courseware, drawing from the Instructional System Development Catalogue. Courseware will include a blend of self-paced digital learning and instructor-led training, developed using modern Learning Content Management Systems (LCMS) and Learning Management Systems (LMS). This provides an excellent opportunity to work at the forefront of technical training delivery within a complex engineering environment.
