Role Summary

The AI Strategy Lead will design, scale, and sell in novel AI-powered products and services that solve real-world pain points in medical communications. Acting as a bridge between scientific teams, technology partners, and clients, you will turn cutting-edge AI capabilities into differentiated offerings, standardize and scale specialized AI-powered workflows within the medical communications business unit, drive revenue growth through pitches and proposals, and serve as a visible thought-leader on the impact of AI in medical communications.

What you’ll do
  • Assist in the development and ownership of a roadmap for AI innovation within the medical communications capability.
  • Partner with technology teams to develop prototypes, run pilots, and define success metrics, drawing on cross-functional expertise in medical communications and AI.
  • Lead efforts to standardize novel AI-powered workflows within the medical business unit.
  • Partner with change management and training teams to upskill the department on the latest AI tools and applications for medical communications.
Business Development
  • Partner with Business Development to craft compelling RFP responses and capability decks; regularly present in client pitches.
  • Maintain a library of case studies and demo assets that showcase measurable impact.
Client Delivery & Advisory
  • Serve as strategic lead on high-profile AI engagements, ensuring solutions meet scientific accuracy, MLR, data-privacy, and ethical standards.
  • Translate technical concepts into clear, actionable recommendations for medical affairs and promotional medical education.
Thought Leadership & Brand Elevation
  • Represent the company at conferences, webinars, and industry events; author articles on AI innovation in medical communications.
Capability Building
  • Coach internal teams to articulate AI value propositions and use tools confidently during client interactions.
Partnerships & Ecosystem
  • Cultivate relationships with AI vendors and health-tech platforms to expand solution breadth and stay ahead of market trends.

What you should have
  • Industry Expertise: 8+ years in medical communications/medical affairs; Preferred: Experience leading AI, data‑science, or advanced analytics initiatives within life‑sciences.
  • Technical Acumen: Expertise in modern AI technologies.
  • Commercial Track Record: Demonstrated success winning or expanding client business through consultative selling and persuasive presentations.
  • Education: Preferred: Advanced degree in a scientific discipline (PhD, PharmD, MSc) plus evidence of formal or on‑the‑job AI/analytics training.
  • Communication: Exceptional storytelling and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Regulatory Savvy: Familiarity with MLR, GDPR/UK Data Protection, and responsible‑AI frameworks.
