Qualifications

  • Degree level qualification, preferably in an Engineering/Operations discipline or equivalent aviation experience.
  • Project management experience within aviation infrastructure.
  • Experience of operating within an aviation safety management system.
  • Knowledge of aviation policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Demonstration of management skills including subcontractor management.
  • Operational awareness of crisis management and emergency procedures.
  • Experience of operational safety management within an airside environment would be preferable.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Aerodrome planning strategy including expansion and development.
  • Co-ordinate & Manage projects for the Aerodrome linking with internal and external agencies.
  • Support the environmental management and energy management plan.
  • Liaise with the CAA to maintain compliance with the CAA licence.
  • Manage changes to the terms of the licence and safety critical equipment.
  • Ensure the Aerodrome Manual and associated procedures are reviewed & updated.
  • Participate in local Airport Operations Review Team meetings.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities and compliance monitoring.
  • Manage Aeronautical Data in line with the (ADQIR).

About the Role.

We are looking for an Aerodrome Strategic Planning Manager to join the team at Broughton, where our Aerodrome supports Beluga wing delivery to Final Assembly Lines in Europe, and varied general aviation.

Part of Airbus Facilities Management and Real Estate, we are proud of our safety management performance, safety culture and runway availability record, but we are constantly looking for further improvements and business continuity opportunities.

As Aerodrome Strategic Planning Manager, you will oversee and manage projects and developments on the Airport, ensuring regulatory compliance and on‑time, on‑budget delivery, managing future planning and strategic decisions required for the CAA Licensed Aerodrome.

How you will contribute to the team
  • Develop Aerodrome planning strategy including expansion and development aligning the Aerodrome Master Plan with the Airbus strategy for the Broughton site
  • Co‑ordinate & Manage projects for the Aerodrome linking with the internal FMRE colleagues and external agencies such as UK CAA, Airports UK and all Local Planning Authorities
  • Support the environmental management and energy management plan for Aerodrome compliance with ISO 14001 & ISO50001
  • Liaise with the CAA to maintain compliance with the CAA licence UK EGNR-001 with any special conditions agreed
  • Manage any significant changes to the terms of the licence, safety critical Aerodrome equipment & management systems
  • Ensure the Aerodrome Manual and associated procedures are reviewed & updated in line with the Airbus QMS
  • Participate in the local Airport Operations Review Team (AORT) Local Runway Safety Team (LRST) & Airport Safety Committee (ASC) meetings
  • Coordinate Aerodrome maintenance activities , wildlife management, & compliance monitoring
  • Support site abnormality and Aerodrome crisis management process.
  • Manage Aeronautical Data in line with the (ADQIR)
About you
