About the Role

Northampton Children's Trust is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practitioner to join our Safeguarding Team.

As an Advanced Practitioner, you will:

  • Provide expert guidance and support to social workers within the safeguarding team.
  • Lead on complex cases, ensuring the highest standards of practice and compliance.
  • Contribute to service development and mentor colleagues to drive continuous improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with multi‑agency partners to safeguard children and promote their welfare.
  • Assigned a small, manageable caseload to allow time for other key responsibilities.
  • Mentor and support newly qualified and less experienced social workers.
  • Work closely with your Team Manager and support the team in their absence.
  • Be a key player in safeguarding vulnerable children and planning for permanence.
  • Ensure adherence to legislation, guidance, and best practice.
Requirements
  • Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
  • Significant post‑qualifying experience in safeguarding and child protection.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to manage complex cases and deliver high‑quality outcomes.
