Role: Social Worker

Salary: £34.34 ph umb

Location: PENRITH BUT BASED OUT OF KENDAL OFFICE DUE TO FLOODING

Job Type: TEMP

Shifts: Full time, Mon - Fri

Caseload: 15-30 (approx.) cases - Mixed complexity

Hybrid: Yes - Agile working, request to attend the office for monthly team meetings and 1x day a week (Wednesday - in Kendal) desirable.

About the Role

As a Social Worker, you will provide essential support to individuals and families facing a wide range of challenges. You'll assess needs, develop care plans, and work alongside multidisciplinary teams to safeguard vulnerable people and improve their quality of life. This is a highly rewarding role where you will directly impact the wellbeing and safety of those you support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Comprehensive Assessment: Conduct detailed assessments and risk evaluations for service users.
  • Care Planning: Develop, implement, and review tailored support plans.
  • Safeguarding: Ensure the protection of vulnerable children and adults.
  • Advocacy: Support clients to access healthcare, housing, benefits, and community resources.
  • Collaborative Working: Partner with healthcare professionals, local authorities, and voluntary organisations.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely case notes in compliance with professional standards
Details of the work to be carried out
  • Care Act assessments
  • Capacity assessment and Best Interest decision processes
  • Reviews of established residential and nursing placements across North Cumbria
  • Facilitating changes in placement
  • Facilitating hospital discharge processes
  • CHC processes - including submission of FNC forms, checklists and attendance/engagement at DST
  • S117 Reviews
  • Court of protection witness statements
  • Applications for deputyship and appointeeship where applicable
