Job description
Overview

Adult Speech and Language Therapist Band 7. This is a 37.5 hour per week post, based in the Croydon Adult Out-Patient Speech and Language Therapy Service area. You will join a supportive network of Speech and Language Therapists who work in the Community and Acute settings.

The successful candidate will demonstrate experience and knowledge in assessment, treatment and management of patients who have acquired communication and swallowing problems following neurological events, primarily in an out-patient setting. The post holder will be based in the hospital but may work in the Community as required, reflecting the Integrated care approach. We work closely with therapy and medical colleagues.

Responsibilities

At a Highly Specialist level to assess, develop, treat and discharge adult clients referred with communication and swallowing difficulties within the main Croydon University Hospital and Community Departments, in particular the Out-Patient Voice Team. To work as a member of the team, to provide an efficient, effective and co-ordinated Speech and Language Therapy Service. There may be work within the Community Domiciliary Speech and Language Therapy Service required at certain times.
