Role Overview
We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Insurance Claims Administrator to join our in‑house Insurance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous insurance claims, administration and customer service experience who is looking to develop a rewarding career within the insurance sector. Working alongside experienced Senior Administrators, you will provide administrative and claims support across a portfolio of insurance claims (motor, public liability/personal injury, etc.), helping to ensure an efficient and professional service for policyholders, insurers, brokers, and third parties. There is genuine scope for progression, with the opportunity to develop as your experience and knowledge grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Log and process new insurance claims accurately on internal systems.
- Manage claims throughout the lifecycle, from initial notification through to settlement.
- Review policy documentation to determine levels of cover and claim validity.
- Request, gather, and verify supporting documentation and evidence.
- Validate claims against policy terms and conditions.
- Communicate with claimants, insurers, brokers, and third parties via telephone, email, and webchat.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on company databases and case management systems.
- Assist with the assessment and valuation of claims using reports, photographs, and supporting evidence.
- Support claims negotiations and settlement processes where appropriate.
- Identify potentially suspicious claims and refer them for further investigation.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with regulatory requirements, GDPR standards, and company procedures.
- Work to agreed service standards, targets, and deadlines.
- Provide administrative support to Senior Administrators and the wider Insurance team.
About You
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in insurance claims administration, data entry and customer service.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload effectively.
- A proactive approach and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications (Word and Excel).
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Previous experience within the insurance, claims handling, or financial services sector.
- Knowledge of Financial Services regulations and GDPR requirements.
- Experience using databases or case management systems.
- Relevant qualifications, A-levels, vocational qualifications, or studies in Insurance (for example CII Certificate of Insurance), Business, Finance? or Law?.
