Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Administrative Officer to support operations at Hendon Magistrates' Court. Administrative Officer - HMCTS (via Brook Street)

📍 Location: Hendon Magistrates' Court, North London
🏢 Working Pattern: Fully onsite, 5 days per week
💷 Pay Rate: £15.59per hour + holiday pay & pension
📄 Contract: Full-time, temporary currently till 31/03/26 with a view to extend
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm (37 hours per week)

Brook Street is currently recruiting an Administrative Officer to support a Government client within HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS). The role is based at Hendon Magistrates' Court, providing administrative support to Harrow Crown Court operations.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on experience within the public sector and play a key role in supporting the justice system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing administrative support to the Judiciary and Court Clerk teams
  • Booking cases and managing court schedules
  • Processing, scanning, uploading, and maintaining sensitive legal documentation
  • Using internal case management systems and databases
  • Liaising professionally with judges, court staff, and senior stakeholders
  • Serving court documents and assisting with the collection of fines and fees
  • Ensuring accuracy and confidentiality at all times

Please note: This role is fully office-based with no remote working.

About You
  • Proven experience working in an administrative role (essential)
  • Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and manage a varied workload
  • Experience within legal or public sector environments is desirable but not essential (full training provided)
