Priory Hospital Cardiff is looking for an activities co-ordinator to join our team. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. Priory Hospital Cardiff is a modern mental health treatment unit. The unit includes a variety of facilities, such as three secure gardens, a gym, patient practice kitchens, patient social area, art rooms and dedicated support services areas. The service is currently being developed to provide bespoke treatment packages for a variety of patients with complex mental health needs. The unit will provide a modern, homely environment promoting independence, whilst employing an experienced multi-disciplinary team to oversee and support patient progress.
The post holder will work collaboratively in the planning, development and provision of a range of therapeutic, wellbeing and social activities for the patients across site. You will be working collaboratively with the occupational therapy team and ward staff. As activities co-ordinator you will look to create, plan and organise an interesting and varied program of daily activities, entertainment and events to improve the wellbeing and quality of life of clients at Priory Hospital Cardiff. We are looking for a highly motivated and creative individual with good communications skills and a desire to make a difference to the lives of the people we care for. The ideal person will be organised and have some experience working within the care sector, therefore being able to understand the needs of patients and aid and facilitate activity choices. No experience as an activities co-ordinator is required but a positive, enthusiastic attitude is a must.
