Job Responsibilities

As an Activity Champion, you will be responsible for organising and facilitating a diverse range of stimulating and engaging activities for our residents. This will include, but is not limited to:

  • Formulate an activity profile for each individual service user through liaison with care staff, in line with their abilities and preferences.
  • Enhance the overall wellbeing of residents by understanding their likes, interests and needs.
  • Ensure the safe and proper use of all equipment.
  • Maintain accurate and legible records in respect of service users’ activities.
  • Liaise with the senior nurse on duty with regard to outings.
  • Research all prospective outings in respect of access and toileting facilities.
  • Liaise with senior care assistants in respect of relative medical or nursing care information regarding service users.

Activities Champion at Mill River Lodge

Salary: £13.02 per hour. Hours: 8 hours every Wednesday. Shift times: 8 am – 4:30 pm.

Shaw Healthcare is looking for a passionate and caring Activities Champion who is ready to make a positive impact at Mill River Lodge, situated in the picturesque West Sussex town of Horsham. The superb purpose‑built care home provides 70 spacious en‑suite bedrooms for elderly service users with conditions such as Alzheimer's, Dementia, Parkinson's or other clinical diagnoses.
