Job summary

A financial services company is seeking an Assistant Accountant in Chesterfield for short-term maternity cover. This role involves supporting the finance team with transaction-heavy accounting duties, including daily bank reconciliations and month-end activities. Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily bank reconciliations and cashflow updates.
  • Process and review high-volume financial transactions.
  • Support month-end close, including journals and reconciliations.
  • Assist with Area P&Ls and reporting.
  • Handle intercompany recharges and control account reconciliations.
  • Provide accurate financial information to the finance team.
  • Perform ad hoc finance duties as required.

This role would suit someone with hands‑on accounts experience who is confident working through high volumes of transactions and supporting month‑end activities.
