Job summary

Job description

Our client is seeking a part time, temporary Accounts Assistant to support the Finance Manager with day-to-day accounts functions such as Sales ledger, purchase ledger, small amount of credit control, bank reconciliation etc. This role has become available due to a special project that has come on board meaning that the Finance Manager is taking on different duties and requires support. This temp role is envisaged to last between 5 to 6 months, possibly longer. The client is flexible in how the hours are made up in this role and can be between worked over three full days or school hours to suit. The team is a small team and it s a relaxed and fun environment, working in an open plan office so you are mixing with others, it s an easy-going culture and a lovely place to work.

Job Description:
  • Recording and analysing daily takings
  • Preparing weekly banking and coinage requirements
  • Recording expenditure invoices in the Xero accounting system
  • Maintaining filing system for finance related documents
  • Raising rent, service charge and other recharge and commission invoices in Xero
  • Credit control
  • Daily bank reconciliations in Xero
  • Management and facilitation of stationery and other office supplies
  • Maintenance of the Xero general ledger
  • Tracking and reconciliation of company credit card expenditure
  • Supporting the Finance Manager in the completion of ad hoc finance related issues
Candidate Requirements:
  • Strong experience within accounts
  • AAT qualification is desirable
  • Xero or other accounting software experience
  • Work to deadlines and deliver complex tasks
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Someone who can work using their own initiative
  • Team player, work well with colleagues
  • Experienced working in a busy environment
Hours:

Monday - Friday, flexible hours between 8:00 am 6:00 pm, hours per week, can be 3 days or spread over the week

Salary:

£13.00 - £15.00 per hour
