Accounts Assistant

Location: Camborne

Salary: £27,000 - £30,000 per annum + benefits

Butler Rose is delighted to be partnering with a well‑established business to recruit an Accounts Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to join a values‑led employer that provides vital services to the community, and where you'll play an integral role in supporting the smooth running of the finance function.

The Role

Reporting to the Business Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial information is produced and supporting the wider finance team with both routine and ad‑hoc tasks. This is a varied role that would suit someone who enjoys being hands‑on and working collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Preparing and coding intercompany postings.
  • Producing and issuing invoices to external customers.
  • Maintaining and reconciling sales day books and fixed asset schedules.
  • Producing and updating contract schedules to support accurate job costing.
  • Preparing monthly accruals and prepayments.
  • Providing financial support and advice to both finance colleagues and operational teams.
The Person
  • AAT qualification (or equivalent) - part-qualified candidates will also be considered.
  • Previous experience in an accounting or finance role.
  • Strong attention to detail with good analytical and numerical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial colleagues.
  • Good IT skills, with experience of finance systems
  • A flexible, proactive attitude with the ability to manage competing priorities.
