Newport City Council are seeking to recruit an Accountancy Assistant within the Social Care Accountancy team.
You will play a key role in providing financial assistance to the accountancy team and budget managers within social care. You will be responsible for assisting with budget preparation, monthly budget monitoring reporting and final accounts preparation.
You will need to possess good communication skills and be able to communicate financial information to non-finance managers.
You will need to demonstrate an aptitude for IT skills, with advanced spreadsheet knowledge and be able to prioritise demanding workloads to meet tight deadlines. You should also have a sound knowledge of Local Government finance.
Equally important will be your enthusiasm and a desire to enhance financial decision‑making in a particularly challenging area of the Authority's work.
