The Account Director (Argos) plays a key role within Samsung UK’s commercial organisation. This individual is responsible for unlocking growth and competitive advantage through Argos, driving end-to-end commercial execution for the MX categories.

Role and Responsibilities
- Strategic Partner Management
- Serve as the commercial lead for Argos, a high-growth and strategic partner
- Develop custom, data-driven channel strategies tailored Argos’ go-to-market model, target audience, and category potential
- Drive innovation in commercial execution, marketing collaboration, demand generation, and partner engagement to ensure Samsung’s competitive edge
- Channel Development
- Lead the strategic direction, commercial planning, and execution of Samsung’s UK Pureplay Channel strategy
- Build, manage, and grow exec-level relationships with Argos, ensuring aligned business goals and shared market ambition
- Define and own joint business plans to accelerate sales into Argos
- Identify and rapidly scale new high-potential channel partnerships and strategic initiatives
- Commercial Execution & KPI Ownership
- Deliver against Samsung’s core commercial KPIs, including sell-in and sell-out revenue growth, market share uplift, attach rate improvement, and ASP increase
- Lead quarterly planning cycles, leveraging advanced commercial modelling and Excel-based simulation to influence partner proposals and internal decisions
- Deploy category-specific activation plans to accelerate growth in Smartphones, Tablets, Wearables, Accessories, and Computing
- Continuously analyse, forecast, and optimise the performance of Argos to drive maximum ROI and efficient SD investment
- Your key people management responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate a direct team of Account Managers and Account Execs as well as cross-functional team delivering best-in-class account management, operational excellence, and customer experience
- Act as a senior voice for the Pureplay Sales strategy within SEUK leadership forums and pan-European forums, supporting the Head of Pureplay Sales
- Foster a culture of innovation and commercial brilliance, building team capability in advanced analytics, retail modelling, and channel innovation
- Provide clarity on strategy, team purpose & value and define the key areas of focus and direction
- Support the development of your team through regular mentoring, coaching and feedback, 1 : 1s and on the job learning opportunities
- Role model inclusion for your team to build trust and psychological safety
- Ensure communication with your team is a core focus area including cascade of information from LT’s and relevant business updates
- Manage the onboarding, off boarding process and the entirety of the colleague lifecycle process for all team members
- Manage all annual people management cycles such as goal setting, evaluation and salary reviews to a high quality and in a timely manner
- To be accountable for ensuring your team are compliant with company processes and procedures; such as compliance, meeting mandatory business cyclical deadlines, and understanding the company values
What we need for this role
- A senior commercial leader with 10+ years’ experience in Carrier, Distribution, Retail, or Indirect Sales preferably in Consumer Electronics, Telecoms, or FMCG
- Strong knowledge of the UK Mobile landscape, Carrier / Retailer / Distributor dynamics, and emerging digital / alternative channels
- Exceptional Excel skills and financial modelling capability—must be able to independently develop commercial simulations, pricing strategies, and volume / ASP sensitivity models
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex commercial negotiations, manage senior external relationships, and influence internal stakeholders at SEUK Leadership Executive level
- Strategic approach with tactical agility, strong analytical rigor, and passion for identifying and scaling new routes to market
