Job summary

The Technician Specialist role at John Lewis Partnership involves bringing the distinctive service to customers’ doors, installing furniture, kitchen appliances, and other products as part of a 2-person crew in a 7.5‑tonne vehicle.

You will coach fellow drivers, handle loading with the warehouse team, and ensure respectful, safe installations while staying current with new products. Expect a 41‑hour week with selected shift patterns.

Qualifications

• Installation experience is required and will be supported by our installer accreditation.
• Manual C1 UK driving licence (with up to 6 points).
• DCPC or Driver Qualification Card by day one and Tachograph Card.
• Previous experience driving a 7.5‑tonne vehicle.
• Experience in a customer‑facing role with good communication.
• Good understanding of technology.

Responsibilities

• Ambassador for the John Lewis brand with customer service as priority.
• Coach, develop and assess delivery driver colleagues and share knowledge to perform at best.
• Help load the lorry with deliveries alongside the warehouse team.
• Respect the customer’s home and handle unexpected situations to find the best solution.
• Install products efficiently and demonstrate how they work after installation.
• Stay up to date with new products and technologies to perform well.
• Maintain a safe working environment.
