Job summary

John Lewis Partnership is seeking Technician Specialists to join a 2-person delivery crew, transporting and installing home products such as furniture, appliances and TVs to customers’ homes using a 7.5-tonne vehicle. You’ll coach fellow drivers on installations, deliver excellent service, and act as a role model for the John Lewis brand while maintaining safety and quality standards on every visit.

Some roles include pre-employment vetting (DBS checks).

Qualifications

• Previous installation experience is required and training will be provided.
• Manual C1 UK driving licence with a maximum of 6 points.
• DCPC or Drivers Qualification Card by the first day in the role and Tachograph Card.
• Previous experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle.
• Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
• Great verbal communication skills both over the phone and in person.
• Good understanding of technology.

Responsibilities

• Being an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with great customer service as your number one priority.
• Coach, develop and assess delivery colleagues and share knowledge to perform at their best.
• Help load the lorry with the day’s deliveries alongside the warehouse team.
• Demonstrate respect for the customer’s home and find solutions for issues.
• Install products efficiently and demonstrate how they work once installed.
• Keep up to date with new products and technologies to perform at your best.
• Maintain a safe working environment.
