POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a diligent 2nd shift (3pm-11pm) Warehouse Operator to join our team. This role is responsible for receiving and shipping shipments, inventory control, and executing Master Sanitation Cleaning tasks. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding and adherence to Quality Control (QC), Quality Assurance (QA), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). The Warehouse Operator reports directly to the Warehouse Shift Leader/Manager and plays a key role in maintaining Balchem’s high standards for quality and safety.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Operate a forklift in accordance with safety procedures and company guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate inventory control using D365
  • Read and interpret lot numbers and scales
  • Complete all required documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure documentation meets SECS standards.
  • Perform assigned cleaning tasks to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Complete tasks outlined in the Master Sanitation Schedule.
  • Follow safety and security procedures and report any unsafe conditions.
  • Monitor product quality to meet company standards and report deviations to the Supervisor.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to personnel, safety, and equipment maintenance.
  • Develop proficiency in production processes and safety protocols.
  • Apply sound judgement and skills in performing responsibilities and operating equipment in compliance with Balchem Standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Six to twelve months of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency with computers and warehouse inventory systems such as MRP/ERP.
  • Strong organizational, time management, documentation, and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and trustworthiness.
  • Ability to apply common sense and sound judgment in completing tasks and operating equipment.
  • Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions and write simple correspondence.
  • Compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Frequent standing, walking, handling materials, speaking, hearing, and using vision.
  • Regular climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling using proper ergonomic techniques.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25lbs; periodic lifting of 50lbs using safe lifting techniques and equipment.
  • Operation of equipment including computers, measuring devices, and scientific meters.
  • Ability to distinguish color.
  • Exposure to various environmental conditions including:
    • Wet or humid environments
    • Moving mechanical parts
    • Extreme heat and cold
    • High noise levels and vibration
    • Elevated workspaces
    • Fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals
    • Outdoor weather conditions

  • 1st Shift (7am-3pm), 2nd Shift (3pm-11pm), 3rd Shift (11pm-7am)
  • Shift differential rate: 2nd Shift ($1 extra per hour), 3rd Shift ($1.50 extra per hour)
