A residential care provider in Maidstone is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to provide high-quality nursing care to children and young adults with complex health needs. Qualifications

  • Experience in complex care (e.g., tracheostomy, PEG feeding, seizure management).
  • Previous work in residential or community settings is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing interventions for children and adults with complex medical conditions.
  • Administer medications and treatments in line with NMC standards.
  • Monitor, assess, and record health status, escalating concerns promptly.
  • Safeguard vulnerable children and adults, ensuring their rights and dignity are upheld.
  • Contribute to individualized care plans, risk assessments, and health protocols.
  • Work closely with social workers, therapists, doctors, and support staff to deliver integrated care.

Location: Residential Children’s Home (Complex Care)

Reports to: OFSTED Responsible Individual.

Hours: Full-time (shift-based, including evenings, weekends, and nights)

To provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to children and young adults with complex health needs in a residential setting. The nurse will ensure safe clinical practice, promote independence, and support holistic wellbeing in collaboration with families, carers, and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities
Clinical Care
  • Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing interventions for children and adults with complex medical conditions (e.g., tracheostomy, gastrostomy, epilepsy, respiratory support).
  • Administer medications and treatments in line with NMC standards and organisational policies.
  • Monitor, assess, and record health status, escalating concerns promptly.
Safeguarding & Advocacy
  • Safeguard vulnerable children and adults, ensuring their rights and dignity are upheld.
  • Act as an advocate for residents, promoting their voice in care planning and daily life.
Care Planning & Documentation
  • Contribute to individualized care plans, risk assessments, and health protocols.
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical records in compliance with regulatory standards.
Collaboration
  • Work closely with social workers, therapists, doctors, and support staff to deliver integrated care.
  • Support and train care staff in clinical procedures and best practices.
Family & Community Engagement
  • Build positive relationships with families, offering guidance and reassurance.
  • Facilitate community integration and participation in meaningful activities.
Quality & Compliance
  • Uphold CQC (Care Quality Commission) standards and NMC Code of Conduct.
  • Participate in audits, supervision, and continuous professional development.
