Role Overview

The Chief Allied Health Professional has professional and strategic governance responsibilities including clinical, financial and staff governance arrangements for all Allied Health Professional services delivered by those working in the partnership to ensure that the quality of services and care provided is optimised.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a member of the H&SCP Senior Leadership Team and contribute to the strategic direction of the partnership.
  • Co‑operate with the Chief Officer, NHS Lothian AHP Director and other senior leaders to support and develop corporate objectives.
  • Directly manage the Clinical Leads for Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Services within East Lothian’s H&SCP and NHS Lothian’s Mental Health Physiotherapy Clinical Lead (pan‑Lothian service hosted within ELH&SCP).
  • Provide expert AHP advice to ensure delivery of high‑level, safe and effective care whilst ensuring compliance with AHP policy, guidelines and standards of professional practice and conduct.
  • Deputise for the Chief Officer and AHP Director as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Must hold a PVG Scheme membership/record. If not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (child and/or adult) an application to Disclosure Scotland will be required and deemed satisfactory before commencing.
