Job description

1:1 Tutor Needed - Year 4 Pupil in Sherborne

Teaching Personnel are looking for a dedicated and creative tutor to support a Year 4 pupil in Sherborne who is currently awaiting a school placement following the approval of an EHCP. Tuition will take place during the school day, within the pupil's home environment.

This is a role where you can truly make a difference. It's not only about teaching but about building trust, inspiring curiosity, and helping a child grow in confidence. The pupil has ASC and Speech & Language needs and is currently working below age-related expectations, so familiarity with the KS1 curriculum will be particularly valuable.

Learning will follow an interest-led, activity-based approach, with a strong focus on making literacy and numeracy both fun and accessible. We're looking for someone who can bring lessons to life with creativity, patience, and personalised strategies.

As part of this role, you will also play a key part in supporting the pupil's smooth re-integration into school once a placement has been secured.

  • 1:1 tuition for a Year 4 pupil in Sherborne
  • Focus on literacy and numeracy development through play and activity-based learning
  • ASC & Speech & Language Needs
  • 15 hours per week (3 hours per day during the school day)
  • Tuition delivered in-person within the home environment
  • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a young learner's confidence and progress
  • QTS or equivalent professional teaching qualification
  • Experience working with SEND (advantageous but not essential)
  • Strong knowledge of the Primary curriculum
  • Enthusiastic, approachable, and engaging teaching style
  • Valid child workforce DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
  • £25-£30 per hour (PAYE)
  • Flexible working hours to suit your lifestyle
  • Ongoing training and CPD through our online training academy
  • A dedicated consultant to provide consistent local work and support
  • The chance to make a real difference to a child's education journey
