Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support for Pupils with SEND

We are looking to appoint a teaching assistant who is highly motivated, innovative and interested in providing 1‑1 support to pupils with additional needs. The role is to support children with SEND, usually working on a 1‑1 basis, assisting the children in accessing the learning set by the class teacher. The role is based in a school in the Wisbech area of Cambridgeshire. It is a warm and supportive school where all staff are committed to the inclusion of all pupils.

Successful candidate will:
  • Be committed to inclusion
  • Enjoy making learning a positive experience
  • Have some experience of adapting the curriculum and creating bespoke activities to meet an individual’s needs
  • Be highly organised and have excellent time‑management skills
  • Be able to work under the guidance of the class teacher and SENDCo but have the ability to use their own initiative to support individuals
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills that motivate and inspire children
  • Be highly motivated, have a positive attitude and be prepared to develop relationships with children who need consistency and clear boundaries from someone who really cares
  • Have some experience in supporting children with medical conditions within an educational setting
Qualifications
  • Previous experience within Primary Schools or a similar setting
  • Experience with 1:1
Salary

£89 to £100 per day, dependent on experience, training or qualifications.
