Job summary

A leading healthcare provider in Barnsley is seeking an enthusiastic registered nurse for a 9-month fixed-term position in the post-operative care unit. An exciting 9 months fixed term opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic registered nurse to join our teamwithin the theatre complex. The Post-operative care unit is a very busy, everevolving unit. The department runs a 7-day service and is responsible for therecovery of all patients following surgery including maternity, trauma andemergency services.

Main duties of the job

The main duty is to adhere to NMCand AFPP guidelines of good practice supporting safe and effective postanaesthetic care.

Working closely within the MDT toachieve positive patient outcomes and satisfaction. Contributing to qualityimprovements. Developing and enhancing skills and knowledge of others and self.Promoting best evidence-based practice within own scope of practice. Applyinglegislation. Policies and procedures correctly. Respecting the patientsdignity, privacy, wishes and beliefs.

PACU practitioners provide safecare and support people requiring elective and emergency surgical care.
