We are seeking a highly motivated PhD student to join an innovative research project between Qorvo and IRIT Laboratory. This project, conducted in collaboration with Renault/Ampere, focuses on developing advanced Ultra-Wideband (UWB) radar and antenna technologies for the automotive industry. The student will be primarily based at Qorvo facilities, with occasional visits to the university for academic and collaborative purposes.

1. Research and Development: Lead research efforts on beamforming antennas for UWB applications, specifically in the context of radar systems for automotive sensing applications.
2. Antenna Design and Characterization: Design, simulate, and characterize beamforming antennas based on controlled metasurfaces.
3. Signal Processing Algorithms: Develop and optimize signal processing algorithms, focusing on angle of arrival estimation and enhancing distributed radar performance in automotive applications.
4. Stay updated on the latest research and technological advancements in UWB radar, beamforming, and angle of arrival estimation, and evaluate their potential application in the automotive market.
5. Work closely with engineers and researchers at Qorvo as well as academic supervisors at the university, to ensure the successful completion of project milestones.
6. Documentation and Reporting: Regularly document research progress, prepare technical reports, and present findings to both academic and industrial partners.
