Drama Studios in Rennes is seeking a systems designer to shape economy and balance for UNRECORD, an Unreal Engine 5 narrative open world tactical FPS. You will design and tune progression systems, rewards, and weapons at a system level, collaborating with designers and programmers on data-driven balance.

Regular on-site presence is expected at Rennes, with partial remote work allowed. Fluency in English is desired to communicate with teams across the project.

Qualifications

• Experience in systems design, economy design or balancing on a shipped or advanced project.
• Strong analytical skills with spreadsheet proficiency and understanding of curves and probabilities.
• Good understanding of FPS mechanics and weapon balance.
• Ability to defend design decisions with data and playtest evidence.

Responsabilités

• Design reward and progression systems consistent with the game tone and realism.
• Own the in game economy: repartition of content rewards, items, XP.
• Design weapons and gear at a system level with the gameplay team.
• Build and maintain balancing models and data tables synchronized with the engine.
• Prototype and tune systems directly in Unreal Engine with designers and programmers.
• Define telemetry needs and use playtest data to iterate on balance.
