At our Belfort site we specialize in the development of locomotives and high-speed TGV power cars.

As part of our projects and offers, we are looking for an

EXPERIENCED ENGINEER - SYSTEM ENGINEER TRACTION and AUXILIARIES

Your main missions:
  • Define / specify the organic High Voltage HV architecture and Medium Voltage MV architecture (embedded on trains) choices related to this function, and technical choices for trains in the offer and project phase in accordance with customer requirements. In order to meet the expected performance (means global sizing of traction chain / traction schematic / definition of power balances for converters definition…)
  • Follow ALSTOM Co-partners for traction equipment
  • Define the performances using simulations tools (simulation for electric traction under catenary / diesel traction / traction on batteries …)
  • Develop expertise on the TRACTION function
  • Ensure the coordination of design, validation and certification activities for this domain
  • Contribute to problem solving in development, validation and warranty
  • Provide advice and expertise internally, defend technical choices to clients/projects and act as the interface with the various departments of the Design Office (mechanics, control/command, validation, operational safety, etc.)
  • Specify tests, participate in development and assist with validation and certification

  • Guarantee the Quality Cost Time objectives of the proposed technical solutions
  • Be the point of contact for this function with Projects / Clients / other ALSTOM Sites
  • Actively contribute to the success of railway projects by bringing your global and versatile vision
  • Ultimately recognized expertise
Your profile
  • Engineering degree or equivalent, with proven experience (5 to 6 years) in design office or systems engineering (ideally in the railway sector)
  • Having worked in the world of electrical traction: minimum 3 years' experience required in this domain
  • Able to understand/grasp other areas (mechanics/vibration/ etc .)
  • Ability to work independently on multiple systems and multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to challenge product definitions by their suppliers / ability to verify supplier deliverables
  • Ability to manage simulation tools
  • Customer and product orientation
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across departments
  • English proficiency is essential
