A dedicated non-profit organization is seeking highly-motivated Relief Family Support Workers to provide essential support to children with additional needs and their families. The role involves both in-home and community support, requiring a QQI Level 5 qualification and experience in working with children with disabilities. Qualifications

  • Minimum QQI Level 5 Childcare course with a special needs module.
  • 1 Year’s experience of working with children with additional needs.
  • Holder of a full clean driving licence with no restrictions.

We are currently seeking highly-motivated Relief Family Support Workers to join our team in Enable Ireland Family Support Services in North Tipperary.

Contract Type: Variable Hours

Salary Scale: €32,639 to €39,499 pro rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to LSI’s (Long Service Increments)

This pay scale is subject to increases in 2025 in accordance with the recent WRC agreement towards enhanced pay adjustments in Section 39 organisations

Annual Leave Entitlement: 10.7% of hours worked

Overview of the Post:

To provide in-home and community based support to children with additional needs and their families. The family support service will be coordinated by the Family Support & Respite Coordinators, who will prioritise families to be involved in the service, who agrees with each family the type and level of support to be provided. The family support worker will be supervised by and work closely with the Family Support & Respite Coordinator. In order to provide a flexible family support service, the Family Support Worker will be required to work during evenings and weekends.

The successful candidate will have:

• Minimum QQI Level 5 Childcare course (total 8 modules) to include module on special needs or Year 1 completed of a related degree programme (such as Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology) or SNA Qualification or a relevant health care qualification

• Access to Transport

• Must be eligible to work in the state

• 1 Year’s experience of working with children with additional needs.

• Holder of a full clean driving licence with no restrictions

• Up to date Manual Handling, First Aid, Children First, Infection control, PPE Training
