A national research organization in France is seeking a motivated researcher with a Ph.D. to join a project focusing on the structure determination of proteins involved in T2 secretion systems. The role involves developing methods for protein production, optimizing cryoEM grids, and utilizing image processing for 3D reconstructions. Candidates should have a strong background in biochemistry and biophysics, with experience in electron microscopy being essential. This is a two-year full-time temporary position based in Bordeaux.

In the frame of granted ANR (French National Research Agency) project the candidate would work on the structure determination of partners of T2 secretion system using single particle cryoEM. He will develop method for protein production, for stabilizing these proteins, for optimizing cryoem grids, collect high resolution data and use image processing software to determine 3D reconstruction.
The project is within the framework of an ANR research program and will be conducted in collaboration with the groups of Romé Voulhoux (LBM, Marseille).
The successful candidate will join our group at the institute of Chimie et Biology des Membranes et Nano-objets (Pessac, Bordeaux) which aims at deciphering the molecular mechanisms of active transport across biological membranes, using biochemical, biophysical and cryoEM approaches.
The position is for 2 years and will be filled as soon as possible. The applicant should not have more than 2 years of experience after having completed his/her PhD. The salary will follow the CNRS guidelines.
The position is in a sector covered by the protection of scientific and technical potential (PPST) scheme and therefore, in accordance with regulations, requires your arrival to be authorised by the competent authority at the MESR

Eligibility criteria
We are looking for a motivated and ambitious individual with a Ph.D. degree in biochemistry or biophysics. Experience in biochemistry and Membrane reconstitution, electron microscopy is essential; experience with membrane protein expression, and purification is preferred. Applicants should be able to take initiatives and responsibility within the work environment
