About the Role

You have an exciting opportunity to join the Everest Insurance team in Madrid as an Accounting Analyst. As part of a growing organization you’ll be able to apply your existing accounting knowledge while continuing to develop your skills and advance your career in a dynamic fast-paced environment.

You’ll work closely with the Financial Operations Manager and collaborate with a team of five colleagues contributing to a supportive and energetic workplace. This position follows a hybrid work schedule; you’ll be in the office 3 days a week and work remotely 2 days based in our Madrid office.

Key Responsibilities
  • You manage the Accounts Payable mailboxes for European branches including vendor management uploading invoices into Oracle and overseeing the approval process.
  • You handle cash management for European branch bank accounts including performing reconciliations.
  • You support various day-to-day operational activities such as Fixed Assets Leases Payroll and Travel & Entertainment using Concur.
  • You perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • You carry out Accounts Receivable tasks including issuing invoices tracking payments and reconciling cash.
  • You take on corporate credit card administration which involves processing new applications managing credit limits and following up with cardholders on outstanding reports.
  • You maintain and follow up on credit card general ledger suspense postings and direct debit transactions.
  • You manage intercompany Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable accounting including ledger postings invoice settlements and reconciliations.
  • You prepare monthly accruals to support accurate financial reporting.
  • You identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Knowledge Skills and Experience
  • You hold an advanced university degree in Economics Finance or Business Administration.
  • You have 3 to 5 years of experience in the Financial Services or Insurance industry; this background will help you thrive in the role.
  • You’ve worked in an Accounts Payable team and understand the processes involved.
  • You’re confident using MS Excel and have strong end-user computing skills.
  • You communicate clearly and pay close attention to detail.
  • You’re organized, a natural problem-solver and able to meet tight deadlines.
  • You’re a self-starter who works well independently but you also bring energy and flexibility to team collaboration.
  • You can read and write in English with ease.

Trabajarás estrechamente con el Manager de operaciones financieras y un equipo multicultural de cinco personas en un entorno dinámico.

Tus responsabilidades incluirán
  • Gestionarás los buzones de correo de cuentas por pagar de las sucursales europeas: gestionarás proveedores, grabarás facturas en Oracle y supervisarás el proceso de aprobación.
  • Te encargarás de los movimientos bancarios y las conciliaciones de las cuentas bancarias de las sucursales europeas.
  • Apoyarás otras actividades financieras diarias como la gestión de activos fijos, alquileres, nóminas y gastos de viajes y entretenimiento en Concur.
  • Realizarás conciliaciones mensuales de las cuentas de Balance.
  • Emitirás facturas, harás seguimiento de pagos y realizarás conciliaciones dentro de las actividades de cuentas por cobrar.
  • Administrarás tareas relacionadas con las tarjetas de crédito corporativas: procesarás nuevas solicitudes, gestionarás límites de crédito y harás seguimiento de informes pendientes con los titulares de tarjetas.
  • Mantendrás y darás seguimiento a los asientos contables en suspenso del libro mayor de tarjetas de crédito y a los débitos directos.
  • Prepararás asientos contables, liquidarás facturas y realizarás conciliaciones.
  • Colaborarás con los directores de área y el equipo de FP&A en la preparación de provisiones de gastos mensuales.
  • Identificarás oportunidades de mejora en los procesos para aumentar la eficiencia.
Perfil que buscamos
  • Conocimientos habilidades y experiencia:
  • Tienes un título universitario superior en Administración de Empresas o Económicas.
  • Cuentas con entre 3 y 5 años de experiencia en un departamento de Contabilidad, idealmente en el sector de Seguros o Servicios Financieros.
  • Has trabajado en equipos de cuentas por pagar.
  • Posees sólidos conocimientos informáticos, especialmente en MS Excel.
  • Tienes un nivel medio-alto de inglés.
  • Demuestras habilidades de comunicación, atención al detalle, organización y resolución de problemas.
  • Puedes trabajar con plazos ajustados.
  • Eres una persona con iniciativa, capaz de trabajar de forma autónoma, flexible, enérgica y con espíritu de equipo.
