Opdenergy is a growing independent renewable energy producer (IPP) with presence in Europe, United States and Latin America with more than 19 years’ experience. We are looking for a Storage Engineer based in Sevilla, with 2–3 years of experience to join our energy storage team in the renewable energy sector. This role will play a key part in the design, implementation, and optimization of energy storage systems, with a focus on lithium-ion batteries, hydrogen, and other emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the design and implementation of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
• Collaborate in the analysis of battery performance data and control systems to optimize efficiency.
• Coordinate the integration of storage systems with the grid and other renewable sources (solar, wind, etc.).
• Conduct technical studies to evaluate project feasibility and system sizing.
• Support in the selection of energy storage suppliers and equipment.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to improve the performance and profitability of storage systems.

Requirements

• University degree in Electrical, Energy, Mechanical, or Electronic Engineering, or similar.
• 2–3 years of experience in energy storage, renewables, or electrical systems.
• Knowledge of battery systems, inverters, and energy controllers.
• Familiarity with modeling and simulation software for storage systems (e.g., HOMER, PVSyst, MATLAB, Python, etc.).
• Experience with integrating storage systems into the electrical grid.
• Ability to interpret electrical diagrams and perform performance data analysis.
• Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards for energy storage.
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary environments
• Experience with SCADA, EMS, or Battery Management Systems (BMS).
• Certifications related to energy storage or electrical networks.
