The objective of Ericsson Consulting is to deliver engagements that generate value for our customers and enable greater value to Ericsson. We are looking for a highly experienced Techno-Operational Consulting Leader to lead the NW & BOS Transformation Consulting practice and to be part of the Global Consulting Leadership Team that leads business and offerings across Ericsson.
For this position, we need a highly regarded professional with proven and comprehensive expertise in working with Communication Service Providers (CSPs) across OSS, Core/Cloud, RAN, Telco Orchestration, SMO, with good exposure to BSS Transformation domains from technology, and operational transformation perspectives – though with a strong business aspect in mind. This practice will engage in areas such as Autonomous Networks Strategy, O/BSS transformation, 5G Core/SA Value Argumentation, Cloud/HCP Operating Model, etc. The team will act as an end-to-end Telecom Technology Consulting Hub for Global Consulting team and will combine solid Technical expertise with Operating Models knowledge – process, organizational, metrics and systems – and business mindset to advise CSPs.
The role is Global and you will travel internationally based on customer demand.
Responsibilities as a Global Consulting Team Leader
- Drive global P&L and define objectives of NW & BOS Transformation Consulting domain
- Identify, develop and manage portfolio of leading NW & BOS Transformation Consulting offerings
- Identify Consulting opportunities by working with tech professionals – Sales and Solution Architects
- Nurture and convert opportunities while contributing actively to consulting proposals
- Guide / Lead delivery of consulting projects / programs across the globe
- Engage as thought leader at CxO level
- Lead NW & BOS Transformation consulting team comprising senior members
- Manage stakeholders in Consulting communities across geographies
- Actively contribute outside your domain to reach overall business objectives
Domain Expertise Area Details
- AN, Orchestration & Automation transformation
- Good understanding of the Autonomous networks e2e methodology, and orchestration & automation transformation approaches taken by the industry leaders and global early adopters, in particular from an Operations and systems perspective.
- Thorough appreciation of the challenges and impacts of Orchestration & Automation transformation, as well as practical experience of transformation delivery programs (e.g., including organizational impacts, process impacts, systems integration and operational transformation)
- 5G Core and 5G Network:
- Good understanding of 5G Core – specifically as related to technology evolution towards 5G, Core deployment options (such as SA)
- Good understanding end-to-end technology evolution beyond Core – especially RAN (and Transport) to be able to advise clients on 5G technology evolution
- Very strong understanding of business implications of the 5G Core (and other technologies) Technology options and roadmap, i.e., how to 5G use cases / 5G monetization is enabled by the technology options and technology roadmap
- Telco Cloud transformation – Both Virtualization and Cloud Native
- Good knowledge of the cloud transformation challenges, impacts and approaches taken by the industry leaders and global early adopters, in particular from technology and deployment perspectives.
- Practical experience of Telco Cloud Transformation programs and cloud operating models
- Knowledge of CICD / DevOps and related Operational processes / impacts
- Expertise on the operational implications of moving 5G Core and other network elements to Virtualized or Cloud Native – both in Hybrid and Public environments
- Operational transformation, and Operating models to support 5G Evolution
- Strong competence in defining operational transformation approaches for evolution to 5G and various 5G opportunities
- Strong capability to define various aspects of operating model for 5G Evolution – such as processes (Performance Management, Fault management, Assurance, Automation, Field services, etc.), Metrics / KPIs, and high-level OSS systems knowledge (Inventory, Assurance, and Activation, etc.)
- Strong understanding of new Agile methodologies and DevOps WoW
- OSS Systems / Support strategies.
- Good understanding of operational trends and system approaches (e.g., Orchestration solutions, use of automation techniques, closed loop automation, microservices, use of analytics, policies, etc.) and relevant opensource communities (OpenStack, OPNFV, ONAP etc.)
- Awareness of the competitor vendor landscape, with an appreciation of relative strengths/weakness with respect to the Ericsson portfolio.
- Strong knowledge and certifications of standards such as TOGAF, ITIL and standard architectures such as TMF TAM/SID/etc. and ODA
- Supporting Capability – Telco Cloud Technology:
- Good understanding of Telco Cloud technology trends (e.g., containers, microservices, MEC etc.) and relevant opensource communities
- Good understanding of public cloud enterprise solutions and its pros cons for communication service providers
- Good understanding of Telco Cloud reference architectures
Qualification Details
- 15+ years of professional experience including demonstrated ability to sell and deliver consulting projects.
- Proven capability to sell and deliver Core / Technology / Operational Consulting projects with the business mindset
- Previous experience leading Consulting business, Consulting practice and Consulting teams, including P&L accountability
- Sound technical knowledge across Core, Cloud, RAN, Telco Orchestration, and B/OSS Transformation domains.
- Sound delivery skills
- Ability to create plans to align technical strategies with business ambition.
- Highly experienced in formulating strategies, and defining transformation journeys.
- Proven ability to excel in fact-based storytelling with strong influencing skills
- Strong people and team leadership skill
- Strong ability to coach and enable individual development
- Proven track record of team growth as well as operational management of team
- Sound behavioral skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and high orientation towards innovation and learning
- Experience and ability to work in international and cross-cultural environments selling and delivering complex engagements in cross-functional teams
- Results-oriented and commercial thinking
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, and preferably a Master’s in Business
