A leading technology consultancy is looking for an Automation Engineer to join their operations in Barcelona, Spain. The role involves analyzing, designing, and programming automation systems, as well as developing PLC and SCADA programs. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 6-7 years of experience in industrial automation. Proficiency in Codesys and problem-solving skills are essential, along with proficiency in English and preferably Spanish.

Formación

• 6-7 years of experience in industrial automation, preferably in machinery manufacturing or printing industry.
• Experience in industrial machinery programming.
• Knowledge of servo drives, motion controller and frequency converters.

Responsabilidades

• Analyze, design, and program automation systems.
• Perform machinery start-up and commissioning.
• Develop and maintain PLC and SCADA programs.
• Integrate external equipment into machinery systems.
• Provide technical support to After Sales Service department.

Conocimientos

Proficiency in Codesys and PLC programming

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Good communication skills

Ability to work independently and in a team

Fluent in English

Spanish proficiency preferred

They are looking to hire Automation Engineer for their operations in Europe.

Job Description

• Analyze, design, and program automation systems.


• Perform machinery start‑up and commissioning.


• Develop and maintain PLC and SCADA programs.


• Integrate external equipment into machinery systems.


• Provide technical support to the After Sales Service department, addressing queries from the team both in the office and during site visits.


• Prepare clear, detailed and accurate operational and maintenance manuals for end‑users and service technicians.

Qualifications / Competencies

• Bachelor's degree in Automation, Electrical, or Industrial Electronic Engineering (or related field).


• Proficiency in Codesys and PLC programming.


• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.


• Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team.


• Fluent in English; Spanish proficiency preferred.

Experience

• 6‑7 years of experience in industrial automation, preferably in machinery manufacturing or printing industry.


• Experience with SCADA/HMI systems and industrial communication protocols (Profibus, ProfNet, CAN, Industrial Ethernet).


• Knowledge of servo drives, motion controller and frequency converters.


• Experience with field protocols (Profibus, CAN, Industrial Ethernet).


• Experience in industrial machinery programming.


• Experience in inspection camera & vision system integration with machine.

Automation Engineer will work from Barcelona, Spain.

Reports To

Automation Engineer will be reporting to Head of the Automation Department.
