The Medical Faculty of Kiel University (CAU) is offering 7 PhD positions within the DFG-funded Research Training Group “Regulation of Membrane Proteins,” starting on 01 October 2025.
Within the RTG-ReMPro (www.rtg-rempro.de), we aim to understand how posttranslational modifications (PTMs) influence the plasticity of membrane proteins involved in cell regulation, tissue specialization, and body homeostasis. Dysregulation of these proteins can lead to pathological conditions.
Our vision is that RTG-ReMPro will enhance understanding of the diverse modifications of membrane proteins, focusing on posttranslational events that regulate receptors, proteases, channels, transporters, and adhesion molecules.
The program is ideal for training doctoral students from natural sciences and medicine, who will be employed at contributing preclinical research institutes such as Biochemistry, Anatomy, and Physiology.
Kiel University (CAU) values diversity and is committed to equal opportunity employment. We welcome applications regardless of age, gender, cultural or social background, religion, disability, or sexual orientation. We especially encourage qualified women, individuals with disabilities, and those with a migration background to apply. Women will be given preferential consideration if qualifications are equal. Applications must include a CV, motivation letter, research description, and references; applications with only a CV will be considered incomplete.
