Volunteer Position (European Solidarity Corps)

We are currently seeking 4–5 full‑time volunteers to join our teams in Berlin as part of the European Solidarity Corps (ESC), formerly known as the European Voluntary Service.

The role

Volunteer Positions Available:

  • 2 positions starting on 1 August 2026
  • Min. 2 positions starting on 1 February 2027 (a third position may be available, subject to operational needs and budgetary considerations)

Duration: 12 months
Location: Berlin, Germany

The European Youth Parliament (EYP) is one of Europe’s largest youth platforms for civic education, intercultural encounters, and the exchange of ideas – run by young people, for young people.

Tasks & Responsibilities

As a volunteer you will assist with various operational tasks at the EYP’s International Office in Berlin. Your tasks may include:

  • Providing general support to the work of the EYP International Office
  • Assisting with practical preparations for events and trainings, including International Sessions and Governance events such as the EYP Board of National Committees Meeting and capacity‑building events like the Training Academy
  • Supporting the planning, coordination, and implementation of Understanding Europe activities, including educational events and related materials
  • Assisting in coordinating participant management for events involving young people from across Europe
  • Supporting communications tasks and activities
  • Facilitating knowledge exchange among EYP’s National Committees and the Understanding Europe network
  • Preparing and updating databases
  • Assisting with the creation of reports and funding applications
  • Preparing and administering evaluations and surveysPerforming other tasks depending on your talents, interests as well as the current projects and events

Our work with volunteers often requires evening and weekend activities. When this happens, you can take time off right after the event to balance out the extra hours, in accordance with organisational policy.

Your profile

Ideal candidates should have strong English language skills, good communication abilities, and a positive team spirit. We seek individuals who are enthusiastic, motivated, and genuinely interested in the goals of our organisation and its programmes. A strong desire to learn and grow through involvement in our activities is also important.

  • Free health insurance, third‑party liability insurance, and general accident insurance
  • On‑Arrival Training and a Midterm Meeting organised by the national agency for ESC volunteers in Germany
  • A 36‑hour work week with 30 days of vacation plus free days on 24 and 31 December
  • Free time to maintain and foster mental and physical health during working hours (‘Wellbeing Hour’)
