We are looking for a mid-level Product Designer (d/f/m) to join our Private Seller team in Berlin. In this role, you will own and ship end-to-end experiences for the Private Seller domain, translating complex workflows into clear, usable designs informed by qualitative and quantitative data. You will collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Data, and Research to create meaningful and trustworthy experiences for millions of users.
You will report to the UX Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end user experience for Private Sellers: discovery, ideation, prototyping, validation, handoff to engineering, delivery, and post-launch iteration.
- Run lightweight user research with private sellers and buyers; partner with UXR to synthesize findings and translate insights into prioritized product improvements and experiments.
- Improve listing quality and conversion using UX patterns and nudges.
- Design better seller onboarding and education experiences to reduce friction and time-to-publish, increasing seller and dealer satisfaction across the C2B workflow.
- Create rapid prototypes (low and high fidelity) and pixel-accurate UI aligned with the Mobile.de design system and brand.
- Use qualitative and quantitative insights (analytics, A/B testing results, research) to form hypotheses, guide decisions, and measure impact.
- Present design rationale to PMs, engineers, and business stakeholders; manage expectations, gather feedback, align, and negotiate trade-offs.
- Share work regularly with other designers, give and receive constructive feedback, and help raise design standards within the UX team.
- Use AI tools responsibly to support ideation and prototyping; evaluate outputs critically and intervene where needed.
Your Profile:
- 2–5 years product design experience; hands-on experience in marketplaces, classifieds, C2C platforms, or e-commerce is strongly preferred.
- Strong product thinking: able to frame problems, prioritize trade-offs, and define success metrics.
- Prototyping & visual design: capable of producing low and high-fidelity prototypes and high-quality UI that aligns with a design system.
- Strong design tooling skills (components, variants, prototyping) and experience producing production-ready assets and specs (e.g., Figma). Design thinking and problem-solving are valued more highly than tool mastery.
- Practical research skills: framing research questions, running basic usability tests, and turning insights into product improvements.
- Familiarity with analytics and experimentation concepts; able to form hypotheses and use data to measure results.
- Collaboration & communication: able to present design decisions to diverse audiences and work effectively with cross-functional partners.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Berlin-based, willing to work hybrid in our Berlin office (2–3 days in the office per week).
Nice to Have skills (Optional):
- Experience with private seller flows is a big plus.
- German language skills; ability to create German copy, and micro copy, and to run lightweight usability sessions in German.
Please apply with your CV and a portfolio link. Include 2–3 case studies showing complex problem-solving, trade-offs, and alignment across partners, and the outcomes achieved.
