Your Role
Manual Underwriting:
- Manual underwriting of bond applications as well as credit above 100k notional to SME, corporate, and financial institutions.
- Structure of credit transactions.
- Assess and approve credit transactions in line with internal policies and external regulatory framework.
- Perform, optimize, and maintain the credit approval process.
Automated Underwriting
- Assist in setting criteria for Decision Engine.
- Align conceptual consistency of underwriting principles.
- Annual review of credit risk exposures.
- Setup and run appropriate governance and documentation processes in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Coach analytic team in keeping automated underwriting processes in sync with manual underwriting principles.
- Regular review and initiation of updates of applicable procedures to meet regulator requirements.
- Provide support to internal and external auditors as and when needed.
- Coordinate remediation of audit findings and related information requests.
- Regular review and updates of applicable procedures.
- Train CRM and Solaris staff on credit risk principles.
- Project‑related tasks, e.g., development of new loan products.
- Support Head of Credit Risk on special assignments, projects, or initiatives.
We’d love to see
- Educational degree or a comparable qualification, ideally in banking, business administration, or a similar field.
- 10 years of relevant work experience in credit risk management in a bank or financial institution.
- At least 5 years of experience in credit underwriting.
- Experience in transferring data‑driven results into operational processes and decision making.
- Experience with financial products regarding credit‑loan process setup, loan documentation, credit‑risk management, and/or credit structuring.
- Experience with regulatory requirements for the respective focus area.
- Fluent German language skills and very good English language skills.
- Hands‑on and driving the change mindset.
- Reliable, solution‑oriented, independent working method.
- Used to working under pressure / on tight deadlines.
- Stakeholder management for multiple tasks and good communication skills.
- Strong interest in the credit‑risk field and always looking to improve old‑fashioned processes end‑to‑end with new approaches and technology.
Working Model
You’re based in Berlin or willing to commute to Berlin a few days every month for stakeholder collaboration, team projects, etc.
