Overview

Supplier Quality Engineer (f/m/d) - Field Service (Commodity Expert)

As a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) for Field Services, you will influence supplier decisions and work with suppliers to develop them in alignment with Siemens Energy's needs for capacity, capability, and cost. Typical services include Scaffolding, Assemblies, Machining, Blasting, Welding, NDT, Mechanical and Electrical Installation, Commissioning, and Site Management. You will leverage your expertise and collaborate with a diverse team to ensure that our supply chain meets the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Be the point of contact for the Field Service Global Commodity Manager in developing procurement strategies and project planning, supplier identification, capability assessment audits, and driving standards in alignment with codes and EHS requirements.
  • Lead a distributed team of Supplier Quality Engineers, fostering an environment of collaborative learning and training.
  • Support cross-functional teams in Execution Units with Product and Process Qualification (PPQ) for Field Service approvals, including planning, tracking, and reporting on project milestones, budget, and resource needs.
  • Act as a commodity expert in developing strategic suppliers and supporting critical technical issues by building and owning a commodity/technology network.
What You Bring
  • Degree or equivalent experience in electrical/mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Longstanding professional experience in an area of Field Service, supplier quality management, procurement and EHS.
  • Experience performing supplier qualification, technical supplier assessment & development to provide a global quality-assured and cost-effective supply base.
  • Experience in leading projects and running virtual multi-functional teams in an international environment.
  • Willingness for domestic and international travel (up to 20%).
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English; German is a plus.
