A leading research institute in Berlin seeks interns to implement and test AI methods for anomaly detection. Successful candidates will have a technical background, good programming skills, and familiarity with image processing. Flexible hours are offered to accommodate studies, and applicants have the chance to engage in cutting-edge research projects. This 40-hour per week position is initially limited to one year, with potential opportunities for thesis collaboration.

For over 35 years, the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Systems and Design Technology in Berlin has stood for excellence in production science. We are dedicated to bridging the gap between science and practice in the field of industrial production and offer application-oriented system solutions for the entire spectrum of industrial tasks – from product development to the production process, maintenance of capital goods, and recycling of products to the design and management of factory operations.
The Machine Vision department draws on its many years of expertise in image processing and pattern recognition to develop new fields of application, particularly for mobile recognition systems and for automated, robot-assisted object reconstruction and quality inspection.
You will implement and test AI methods from the field of anomaly detection as part of current research projects. The focus is on developing and adapting methods that can find defects in high-resolution image data. You will support the project team in researching and implementing new approaches and algorithms, as well as in planning, conducting, and evaluating experiments.
The remuneration is based on the overall company agreement for the employment of auxiliary staff.
The position is initially limited to one year.
The monthly working hours are 40 hours.
