A leading coatings company is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst/Tax Manager for the EMEA region, based in Germany. You will ensure compliance with local tax laws and manage tax provisions while collaborating with global tax and finance teams. The ideal candidate should have at least 4 years of experience, preferably in a Big Four setting, and possess a strong German tax background along with accounting expertise. Proficiency in SAP R3 and Excel is required, with fluency in both German and English. This role does not involve direct reports.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Analyst/Tax Manager for the EMEA region to support in direct tax compliance and tax projects for our EMEA region located in our EMEA Headquarter in Basel. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of experience (Big four history is a plus). A strong German tax background and accounting experiences are required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns and compliance with local tax laws across EMEA countries, with a particular focus on Germany.
  • Prepare and provide necessary documentation to external tax consultants.
  • Prepare and review tax provisions, deferred tax calculations, and ensure compliance with international tax standards.
  • Work with finance and accounting teams to plan cash taxes and ensure timely payments.
  • Collaborate with global tax and finance teams on different projects.
  • Partner with the EMEA accounting team to streamline tax processes and enhance data accuracy.
  • Coordinate and support in tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities.
  • Analyze and evaluate tax audit impacts to tax positions.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the company’s operations.
  • Work closely with finance, legal, and operational teams to ensure alignment on tax-related matters and support business initiatives.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve tax processes and systems to enhance efficiency and compliance.
  • This role does not have any direct reports at the moment
Requirements
  • Minimum 4 years of experience, working within a Big Four firm is beneficial.
  • German tax background, German tax advisor exam (Steuerberater) is beneficial.
  • Strong accounting skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in SAP R3.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Hands‑on mentality, with a proactive approach to managing tasks and projects.
  • Proficiency in Excel including Pivot Tables, large data sets etc.
  • Languages: German (fluent) / English (fluent).

Location: Switzerland (Basel), Germany (Köln, Wuppertal) or Austria (Guntramsdorf)
