YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • You are responsible for leading and participating in multiple drug discovery programs in Research / Early Development (RED) Oncology
  • You drive activities from target identification up through support of early clinical development
  • You are responsible for supporting research strategy in a specific area of scientific expertise pertaining to Cancer Biology
  • You collaborate with other R&D functions and support cross-team and cross-site activities
  • You implement back translational strategies at the interface of drug discovery and clinical development
  • You contribute to key documentation and presentations for projects moving through internal review stage gates and regulatory submissions
  • You work across portfolio assets to drive an integrated strategy with indication, MOA, or modality focus
  • You maintain and extend a network with external partners from academia, contract research organizations, and medical experts
  • You foster creativity and motivation between scientists
  • You demonstrate, credibly embody, and role model VACC leadership by being:

WHAT YOU BRING
  • You hold a Ph.D. in Cancer Biology or a related field and have several years of industry experience
  • You have demonstrated success across multiple phases of oncology drug discovery, with a significant track record of successful advancement of oncology therapeutics
  • You have experience with the discovery of therapies for biomarker-driven, selected patient populations an You possess in-depth knowledge of cancer dependency databases; data science knowledge is seen as advantageous
  • You have substantial experience in the design and execution of early-stage research program(s) to identify and validate novel targets
  • You have experience in strategic planning, project leadership, and laboratory and budget management in a matrixed organization
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to work across functions and within external collaborations, and you demonstrate the ability to organize and communicate complex data sets in a clear and concise manner to cross-functional audiences
  • You have strong organizational and time-management skills and demonstrate the ability to lead complex cross-functional collaborations, including managing relationships with academic collaborators and CROs
  • You have the desire and capacity to participate in a dynamic and fast-paced research setting
  • You are recognized for scientific innovation and accomplishment evidenced by a strong record of publication and conference presentations in cancer biology

  • You demonstrate high self-awareness as well as system awareness and collaborate with account
