We are looking for a highly experienced and motivated Senior Project Manager to lead complex wind turbine installation projects across Europe, with a strong focus on the German market. Based in Hamburg, you will play a key role in driving project success, ensuring high-quality execution, and acting as a strategic interface between internal teams, clients, and stakeholders. In addition to managing projects, you will be responsible for establishing and standardizing the project management framework across Europe—including the development of templates, processes, workflows, and best practices to ensure consistency, efficiency, and scalability.
Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Control - Lead the development of detailed project schedules, define milestones, and manage all phases from preparation to completion. Ensure efficient resource allocation and on-time delivery.
- On-Site Installation Coordination - Oversee installation activities at project sites, coordinate with subcontractors, technicians, and logistics partners, and ensure smooth execution according to plan.
- Budget & Cost Management - Take full ownership of project financials, monitor ongoing costs, and ensure adherence to budget. Identify cost‑saving opportunities and mitigate financial risks.
- Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Management Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations. Conduct audits, implement safety measures, and promote a strong HSE culture on-site.
- Stakeholder Communication Act as the central point of contact for internal teams, clients, authorities, and external partners. Foster transparent communication and resolve conflicts proactively.
- Risk Management & Reporting Identify and assess project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and provide regular status updates to senior management and stakeholders.
- Project Management Framework Setup Design and implement standardized project management tools, templates, workflows, and reporting structures across European operations. Drive continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Construction Management, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in project management, ideally in the wind energy sector
- Proven track record in managing large-scale, cross-border installation projects
- Experience in setting up project management systems and processes
- In-depth knowledge of the German energy market, permitting processes, and regulatory frameworks
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, SAP)
- Fluent in English and German; additional European languages are a plus
- Willingness to travel across Germany and Europe (approx. 50–70%)
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
