Overview

Medical / Senior Medical Science Liaison

Germany & Austria

Locations of primary Centres: Essen, Augsburg, Munich Region.

Ideal Localities: North Rhine-Westphalia / Bavaria

Remote based - Wide geographic travel. 1st 6+ Months - 75% Expected

Employment Type: Contractual - Self Employed (6-9 months). Moving to - Employed Position

Daily rate payable - Competitive + Relative expenses associated

Role and Responsibilities

This will be a highly autonomous and self-leading Medical Affairs MSL role. Working fully remote and travelling extensively in the region and through wider Germany or Austria as required – At outset and for circa 6+ months during build to launch, weekly travel will be expected to be at least 75%.

To advance the future trajectory and ambitious launch plans outside of US in mid-2026, our client is seeking an innovative, motivated, highly autonomous and self-leading industry experienced Medical Science Liaison, or Senior Medical Liaison for launch preparations in Germany and Austria.

Attend future planned congresses (national and international). Also including - Patient advocacy events, publications events and planning, symposia and medical education.

Experience and Qualifications
  • Experience working in Innovative Biotech / Biopharma and smaller build out / start up groups – Highly beneficial
  • Rare / Orphan Disease portfolio’s – Involvements in both early-stage settings plus builds to launch and commercialisation – Highly desirable
  • Seeking associated therapy experience including – Endocrinology / Endocrine / Obesity / Psychiatry / Metabolic Disease / Genetic Disorders
  • Proven credentials working remote and covering a broad region in Germany or above country
  • Strong self-leading attributes and highly collaborative team ethics approach
  • Working knowledge of relative country assigned regulatory requirements and early access programs
  • Ability to identify, map, and build robust KOLs plans, plus develop and further nurture strong relationships with associated KOLs, Principal Investigators and Endocrinologists, Neurologists and Paediatricians at key research centres and residential care settings in Germany and Austria
  • Build and maintain relationships with key Thought Leaders / Subject Matter Experts and other healthcare professionals
  • German national or EU Citizen with permanent residence in Germany
  • Proven experience and credentials working as a field based Medical Liaison or Senior Medical Liaison in Germany. Ideally - 5+ Years
  • Language skills required - German (Full proficiency) + English (Advanced Level)

The ideal candidate will have a creative and innovative approach to Medical Affairs and Medical Liaison activities and offer vision and thoughts for direction, combined with a collaborative style of working with the associated wider EU HQ colleagues, Head of Medical Affairs, and associated field operatives and US business team members as required. A success driven attitude to ‘making things happen’ and driving self-success.

Open to extensive travel is a key requirement on a weekly basis.

A competitive daily rate of pay will be on offer at outset, plus competitive salary and associated benefits in future if moving to an employed position.
