About the role

Are you a highly entrepreneurial HR professional who thrives in the exciting scale-up phase for a dedicated project? Do you have the skill set to both build essential programs and refine existing operations for rapid, sustainable growth? We now need a Senior HR Business Partner to step in and drive the next phase for a dedicated project: transitioning from initial setup to a sophisticated, scalable People organization. This role requires a leader who is equally comfortable designing a new policy and executing a complex employee lifecycle task, and who can operate seamlessly in both German and English.

Your Responsibilities
Foundations & Operational Excellence
  • Process Development & Refinement: Take ownership of our basic HR operational processes (e.g., onboarding/offboarding, data management) and rapidly develop them into efficient, streamlined, and scalable workflows, maximizing the use of our current HRIS.
  • Contracts & Compliance: Handle the full scope of employee contract management. Ensure full legal and regulatory compliance in Germany/EU and draft, review, and standardize all necessary employment documents as we grow.
  • Tool Development: Identify critical gaps in our current tool stack and implement new solutions for areas like Compensation Management, Learning & Development (L&D), or Employee Engagement.
Strategic Partnership & Talent Lifecycle
  • Organizational Scaling: Serve as the trusted HRBP to the leadership team, providing guidance on organizational design, headcount planning, and change management strategies to support ambitious growth targets.
  • Performance Evolution: Develop and implement the next generation of our performance management system—moving beyond basic checks to a comprehensive framework focused on continuous feedback, goal alignment, and high-performance culture.
  • Culture & Values: Act as a core driver of our culture. Design and execute initiatives that foster deep employee engagement, promote our values, and ensure a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace.
  • Employee Relations: Manage and resolve complex employee relations cases, providing expert coaching to managers to build their leadership capacity.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3+ years in a Senior HRBP or People leadership role within a dynamic, fast‑paced start‑up or scale‑up environment.
  • Location Prerequisite: Willingness to work mainly on‑site in Munich to foster team cohesion and support a strong office‑based culture.
  • Language Prerequisite: Absolute fluency in both English and German (C1+ level) is required, both written and spoken, to handle legal documents, contracts, and internal communications.
  • Proven hands‑on experience in the full employee lifecycle, from contract creation and onboarding through strategic talent development.
  • Expert practical knowledge of German labor law (Arbeitsrecht) and social security regulations.
  • The ability to demonstrate success in both building new programs from scratch and optimizing existing basic operations.
  • High proficiency with HRIS and the ability to leverage data to inform strategic decision‑making.
  • A resourceful, self‑starter mentality combined with strong interpersonal and coaching skills.
