This is not your typical CAD desk job. As our Senior Hardware Engineer, you’ll own the full lifecycle of mechanical components and subsystems for our next-generation vehicles and remote drive station platforms. From clean-sheet design to on-vehicle validation, you’ll design, prototype, install, test, and iterate directly on real hardware.
On top of design ownership, you’ll also take charge of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), ensuring that hardware improvements move from idea to implementation smoothly and successfully.
If you’re looking for a role that combines deep design expertise with hands-on engineering impact, this is it.
Own the complete lifecycle of mechanical components: concept freeze → design freeze → prototype builds → vehicle-level installation → testing → validation.
Lead the end-to-end process of hardware change requests, from initiation to ECO closure.
Independently design new mechanical parts and assemblies in CAD, ensuring manufacturability, durability, and integration into complex systems.
Fabricate or coordinate first prototypes, perform vehicle-level installation, and carry out functional testing.
Partner with engineering and testing teams to define and execute validation plans.
Work closely with procurement and supply chain to manage BOM's, source components, and support suppliers during early builds.
Drive and participate in rigorous design reviews, ensuring technical excellence and cross-functional alignment.
Release hardware configurations for engineering and commercial use with accurate documentation and PLM data.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
7+ years in mechanical design, with proven expertise in CAD-based component & assembly design.
Track record of owning mechanical systems end-to-end—from concept to on-vehicle validation.
Hands-on prototyping and testing experience on real hardware (vehicles, robots, machinery).
Strong fundamentals in mechanical design, materials, and manufacturing processes.
Familiarity with vehicle technologies; exposure to autonomous or teleoperation systems is a strong plus.
Proficient in CAD and PLM tools, with solid experience in GD&T, design documentation, and ECO processes.
Self-driven, detail-oriented, thrives in fast-paced cross-functional environments.
Engineering Change Order (ECO) management experience: initiating, tracking, and closing ECOs.
