Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated person who is interested to work at the interface of development, production and data. The role of Senior Engineer Data Analytics is to structure the analytics requirements of our engineers and use skills in statistics, visualization and machine learning to offer the best solution possible within our analytics toolset. You will be responsible for the following activities:
Responsibilities
- Supporting our engineers: You will create analytics templates according to user requests including documentation and training of users. Your first tasks will include meeting the analytics requirements of development and engineering teams for MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical System) products.
- Making things smarter: To facilitate analytics tasks you will use your in-depth knowledge of statistics and machine learning. You are motivated to cover the required steps towards the solution from first idea to deployment.
- Ensuring quality: Data- and software quality are the basis for all of our activities. You will set up checks of data and software quality in your area of expertise and will take action to solve found issues together with other engineers or software vendors.
- Using and extending your skills: Depending on the project needs you will design data pipelines using SQL, Impala and Spark and extend our analytics tools using programming languages such as R, Python or C#.
- Enabling others: You are willing to enable others through trainings, presentations or supervision, e.g. of student activities.
Qualifications
- Education: academic degree (MSc diploma or PhD) in mathematics, statistics, physics, IT or similar
- Experience and know-how: several years of experience in data analytics using programming languages (R, Python) or visual data analytics software, ideally in the semiconductor industry; in-depth understanding of statistics, Machine Learning and Time Series Analytics; advanced programming skills in at least one of the following: Python, R, IronPython or C#; basic skills in application of SQL and Impala to relational and non-relational databases; experience with Spark SQL and Spark MLlib would be a plus; ideally experience with the functionality and testing of MEMS sensors
- Personality and Working Practice: structured problem solver, high level of interdisciplinary comprehension and customer orientation, strong communication skills, reliable team player
- Languages: fluent in English and German
